Each month, we highlight one of our Twin Hill team members. This month, we're speaking with Josh Mazzola, Program Director.
How long have you worked at Twin Hill?
I’ve worked at Twin Hill coming up on three years.
How have you progressed since joining Twin Hill?
From the perspective of position, I’ve progressed from being a senior program manager to a program director. From a personal knowledge standpoint, I didn’t come from the garment industry, and so, my understanding and knowledge of clothing and its creation has grown extremely aggressively.
What are your main responsibilities?
I oversee a team of program managers, who each are responsible for managing partnerships within our business. I support those team members and work through growth plans and structure for both our teams and the business.
Which part of your job do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy providing the tools needed for success. I love being able to provide someone information on how to improve their output, and then watching them utilize that knowledge to grow.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
Sometimes you need to let people try and swim on their own, as a means to allow them to grow. I have a tendency to want to support as much as possible, and find it challenging to have to let that moment happen; to step away and allow team members to show they have tasks in hand.
How would you describe Twin Hill’s Program Management team in three words?
Dedicated, inventive, results-driven
What has been the highlight of your career at Twin Hill so far?
Working as the primary stakeholder in securing a major contract extension from one of Twin Hill’s long standing partners was a very impactful experience for me. It allowed me to showcase skills in a new area of the business as well as secure a major win for our brand.
Outside of work, do you have any hobbies or interests?
I participate and compete in marksmanship and speed shooting competitions, using a variety of firearms. In 2017, I won two state championship titles in various disciplines of the shooting sports.
What is one thing that most people do not know about you?
Well, I wouldn’t say I’m a “momma’s boy”, but I make it a point to call my mother at least a few times a week. I’ve lived across the country for the last 15 years or so and only see my side of the family maybe once a year, but our continued contact is a testament to the value sets my family lives by.
If you could be anywhere (other than the office) right now, where would you be?
I grew up in Boston, MA. The weather (I love the cold), the history, the unique beauty of the area, and of course the sports teams aren’t quite the same anywhere else. I love being able to return home whenever I can.
