Each month, we highlight one of our Twin Hill team members. This month, we're speaking with Linda Gunnerson, Director of Design.
What is your job title? Director of Design.
How long have you worked at Twin hill? I started at Twin Hill in 2004, so it is just over 14 years now! Time flies when you are having fun :).
What’s the first thing you do when you get to work? Load my computer into the docking station.
Coffee or tea? Coffee and lots of it!
Have you read any good books lately? Unfortunately, I have not had the time lately…
What is your favorite season in Texas? I think you mean New York! Summer for sure. We have beautiful beaches on Long Island where I live.
How have you progressed since joining Twin Hill? I have grown to learn more about the business side of our business and how to blend the business with the creative.
What are your main responsibilities? The main ones include the management of the New York design team, coordinate the NY product development hand-overs to the UK team, and client presentations.
Which part of your job do you enjoy the most? I really enjoy working directly with the client to figure out the best solutions for their company.
What is the most challenging part of your job? There are not enough hours in the day!
What’s your favorite sports team? I don’t really have one, but in my house the boys route for the Patriots.
What department is your role under? Design.
What makes your team different than others? The team is able to use their design creativity to solve problems.
How would you describe your team in three words? Creative, dedicated, and hard-working.
Outside of work, do you have any hobbies or interests? Boating, kayaking, snow skiing, and designing the garden.
What has been the highlight of your career at Twin Hill so far? The highlight was competing for and winning the business at Mary Kay. We worked really hard to come up with a creative approach to fabrics & trims and to show our ability to listen and deliver what the client wanted.
What is one thing that most people do not know about you? That I have captained my own power boat for the past 25 years.
If you could be anywhere (other than the office) right now, where would you be? I would be with my family at the beach, of course!
What’s the best vacation spot? St John, US Virgin Islands. Amazing beaches and not over-developed since ¾ of the island is National Park.
What will you do when you get home today? Pick my son up from swimming practice.
