Each month, we highlight one of our Twin Hill team members. This month, we're speaking with Danielle Maring, Accounts Receivable Manager.
What is your job title? Accounts Receivable Manager.
How long have you worked at Twin hill? 9 years this past May.
What’s the first thing you do when you get to work? Review my calendar and task list then start reviewing/responding to emails.
Coffee or tea? Coffee with far too much creamer!
Have you read any good books lately? Unfortunately no, but I did finally watch the movie rendition of one of my favorite books, “Room”. Incredible read and they did an excellent job with the movie.
What is your favorite season in Texas? Cold… season irrelevant! I don’t like the heat at all, because it’s difficult to cool down but love to warm up on a cold day.
How have you progressed since joining Twin Hill? I’ve definitely climbed the proverbial ladder. I started off as a contractor (hired after 90 days) in an “AR Analyst” position and was promoted to “Senior AR Systems Analyst” approximately 4 years later. After 6 months I was offered the “AR Supervisor” position which I held for 4 years until my most recent promotion to “AR Manager” in April.
What are your main responsibilities? Ensuring the AR department collects on our outstanding credit sales in addition to various billing, reporting and reconciling responsibilities while remaining PCI and SOX compliant. Also, assisting with my teams’ professional development is very important to me.
Which part of your job do you enjoy the most? I thoroughly enjoy a good puzzle or project that needs outside-of-the-box thinking. It’s a great feeling when you finally have the “Aha!” moment and figure out a new way to do something that will benefit the company and/or a department.
What is the most challenging part of your job? Brainstorming creative work arounds for customer needs, where existing functionality cannot accommodate the customer’s request.
What’s your favorite sports team? Anything Houston, Texas!
What department is your role under? Accounts Receivable.
What makes your team different than others? We have always been a Twin Hill / Tailored Brands split. While we work solely on Twin Hill accounts, we are technically in the Tailored Brands Finance and Accounting Group.
How would you describe your team in three words? (can we change this to 4 words?) Work hard, play hard!
Outside of work, do you have any hobbies or interests? I love to sing Karaoke!
What has been the highlight of your career at Twin Hill so far? My recent promotion to AR Manager. I have worked very hard over the years, and I am incredibly appreciative of the opportunity to continue developing this department.
What is one thing that most people do not know about you? I don’t like dessert. I prefer savory foods. Although, I do put 6 creamers in my coffee. 0_o
If you could be anywhere (other than the office) right now, where would you be? On a beach or somewhere with a view, in cool/cold weather, wrapped in a blanket with a bottle of wine!
What’s the best vacation spot? For a quick trip, I love going to Austin. Otherwise, Colorado was an amazing vacation that I hope to do again soon.
What will you do when you get home today? Play with my daughter, Alexis and puppy, Jameson. Get dinner finished up then the little one’s bed time. After that, a workout video or a show with my roommate, Hollie!
